कुरवपूर (जि.रायचूर) कर्नाटक हे क्षेत्र कृष्णा नदीमध्ये असलेल्या एका बेटावर आहे.या क्षेत्राच्या चोहोबाजूनी पाणी आहे.या क्षेत्री श्रीपाद वल्लभांनी १४ वर्षे वास्तव्य केले.
मुंबई,बंगलोर(व्हाया गुलबर्गा)या रेल्वे मार्गावर रायचूर हे रेल्वे स्टेशन लागते.तिथे उतरून रायचूर बसस्थानका वरून बस मार्गाने ३०किमी अंतरावर अतकूर हे गाव लागते.तिथे जवळ्च कृष्णा नदीचा तीर लागतो.होडिने १ किमी प्रवास करून मंदिरापर्यंत जाता येते.
दुसरा मार्ग रायचुर-हैद्राबाद या बसमार्गावर मतकल नावाचे गाव लागते तिथे उतरून रिक्षाने किंवा बसने १६ किमी अंतरावर असलेल्या पंचदेव पहाड या कृष्णा नदीच्या तिरावर असलेल्या गावास जावे लागते.नंतर होडिने प्रवास करून १ किमी अंतरावर मंदिरापर्यंत पोहोचता येते.हा मार्ग अधिक सोयीचा आहे.पंचदेव पहाड या गावाजवळ दत्त उपासक विठ्ठल बाबांनी वल्ल्भपूरम नावाचा आश्रम स्थापन केला आहे.या आश्रमात निवासाची व भोजनाची व्यवस्था आहे.स्वत:च्या गाडीने कुरवपूरला जाणा-यांसाठी या आश्रमात गाडी पार्किंगची व्यवस्था आहे.वल्लभपूरम या आश्रमात श्री श्रीपाद वल्लभ स्वामींचा दरबार आहे.याच ठिकाणी श्रीपाद श्रीवल्लभ स्वामी सूर्यनमस्कार घालण्यासाठी येत असत.याच्या खुणा आजही पाहावयास मिळतात.

Kuruvapur is a famous place of lord Dattatreya. It is situated in the state of Karnataka In India.The first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya in kaliyuga is Sripada Vallabha. The birth place of Sripada vallabha is Pithapuram which is situated in Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. He was taken his birth in the family of Appalaraju Sarma and Sumathi. He has performed penance at about 35 years for Gnana, Viragya siddhi at Kuravapur and closed his avathara On Ashweeja bahula dwadasi (Hastha star) in Krishna river of Kuravapur . The day is known as“GURUDWADASI”. But till today he is in sukshma rupa there and giving indirect darshan to the devotees who are having full faith on him. This place Is termed as Gurudweepa in Scanda purana.Scanda purana explained that 28000 yogis and siddhis of Himalayas were visited this place and had darshan of lord Dattatreya. The place is completely surrounded by Krishna river and is called as Dweepa. Tembe swamy majaraj (Sri Vasudevananda saraswathy) performed “Chaturmasya vratha” here in the year of 1911.The disciples of Tembe swamy Sri Rangaavadhootha, Gunavani maharaj were also performed penance here. |
Kuravpur (also known as Kuruguddi) is a small island situated along border of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on river Krishna. Kuravpur can be reached via Raichur (Karnataka) or via Mathkal (Andhra Pradesh).
From Raichur one has to travel to Atkur & take "putti" (small boats) to reach Kuravpur. There is no roadway available. It is necessary to cross the river. Raichur is about 10hr train journey from Pune, 14 hrs from Mumbai & 8hr road journey from Secunderabad.
Travelling by "putti" is a pleasant experience through cold drifting Krishna river. You will find variety of bird species flying over and also an occasional fish. This is followed by 15 minute trek over mud road up to the temple. Bullock carts are available for aged and children. They charge Rs 200-300 & its better to negotiate before the journey.
Kuravpur is extremely remote area with very few locals and absolutely no facilities (even toilets). Still it is beautiful, green.
Sripad Vallabh paduka mandir is located in peaceful surroundings. Similar to Pithapur there is Kakad aarti at 4:30am, Abhishek at 9:00, Pooja at 12 noon and Palakhi procession in evening.
Male devotees can enter the temple only after removing shirts.
Apart from temple there is 1000yrs old Vata vriksha where Sripad Sri Vallabh did his Tapashcharya, a cave where Sri Tembheswamy (Sri Vasudevanand Saraswati) did his Tapashcharya.
SHRIKSHETRA KURAVPUR is in Karnataka State, Dist.Raichur. It is situated on the Banks of Krishna River, 25 Km from Raichur. One can reach kuravpur by train or road.
Route to Kuruvapur
This is about 30 kms distance from the district head quarter Raichur of Karnataka. There is bus facility from Raichur to Aathkur which is 1.5 hours journey. From Aathkur to Kuruvapur, every Person has to travel in Krishna river for 20 minutes in small boats or “butti”. (charge around 15 to 20 rupees).The connection Conveyance facility is available for each bus reaching Aathkur.
Second route: This is about 2.50 hours journey from the district headquarter Mahaboobnagar of Andhra pradesh. Mahaboobnagar is about 2.50 hours journey from state capital Hyderabad . The persons can catch direct buses from Hyderabad to Raichur and have to get down at Makthal. From Makthal to Kurugadda (kuravapur) autos and jeeps Are available. The devotees have to engage an auto or jeep to reach Krishna river. From there also buttis and small boats Are available to reach temple.

From bus stand go to Atakur at 7.30 morning & 11 am. only two bus is available From Village we have to go from bullock cart, boat and sand (walking) we come to Kuravpur Temple.
